            More than just a visit

Caseifici Aperti is far more than a series of guided tours through dairies, barns and ageing warehouses, or a chance to browse dairy shops, enjoy children's events and tastings. It is a genuine journey back in time, uncovering the production method of this PDO cheese, unchanged for over nine centuries (made today with the very same ingredients as a thousand years ago: raw milk, salt and rennet, entirely natural, with no additives or preservatives). A tour through a region steeped in history, art and culture.

An extraordinary opportunity to discover the Region of Origin

Caseifici Aperti is also an unmissable opportunity for everyone, from art lovers to families, to explore the historic masterpieces and vibrant attractions of the Region of Origin: visit the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral of Parma, or lose yourself along the woodland trails of the Boschi di Carrega nature park; hike up to the Pietra di Bismantova rock formation, or wander through the evocative streets of Reggio Emilia's historic centre; photograph the Ghirlandina tower, symbol of Modena, or speed through the Ferrari Museum in Maranello; steal a kiss beneath the romantic porticos of Bologna, or step into a traditional trattoria and ask the host why the city is known as "la Grassa" ("the Fat One"); marvel at the Gonzaga palaces, or stroll along the banks of the River Po in the province of Mantova.
