Reggio Emilia, 8 February 2022 - The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium flies to **Las Vegas **from **6 to 8 February **to participate in the Winter Fancy Food Show, the event dedicated to the world of Food & Beverage which, for the first time since the 1970s, returns to Las Vegas.
Parmigiano Reggiano is present at stand number 3760-61, located in the International Pavilion. The Consortium's activities at the Winter Fancy Food Show include one-to-one meetings with business partners to discuss 2022 strategy and activities. An important and highly necessary planning moment after two years during which pandemic-related restrictions prevented foreign trips. In support of the Italian delegation, Michele Casadei Massari, brand ambassador of the Consortium and owner of the Lucciola restaurant in New York, is also in Las Vegas.
The United States is the leading export market for Parmigiano Reggiano with 12,868 tons of product shipped overseas in 2021 (+ 10.4% compared to 2020). We recall that Parmigiano Reggiano is increasingly projected on foreign markets and in 2021 it reached and exceeded 45% of its export share, with volume growth of + 2.9% compared to the previous year.
“The US market is giving us enormous satisfaction. Although Parmigiano Reggiano is still forced to struggle with similar products (parmesan) that can deceive consumers and steal market share, our companies have significantly increased sales in the States: this shows that the consumers appreciate the value of our product and is able to distinguish it from other products on the market that have nothing to do with our strict production regulations and our territory”, declares Nicola Bertinelli, president of the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium.
